Leave no trace

Benjamin's Aunt Kris is currently hiking the Appalachian Trail so we've been teaching Benjamin about some of the things she does. Her main philosophy while hiking and camping is "leave no trace". In other words, "take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints." Benjamin loves to pick up sticks and rocks and other things while we are hiking. We're not as strict as Kris in the "leave no trace" philosophy but we certainly don't want the sticks being brought in the car as we leave, so we always remind Benjamin that he has to leave the sticks there. We remind him that's what his Aunt Kris does. Today, as we were leaving Arches National Park, I guess Benjamin was particularly fond of the stick he found and said to Scott with just the right amount of attitude to make it hilarious, "I don't DO leave no trace!" Sorry Aunt Kris!
