Someone special

Today Benjamin went to the store with me and, of course, they already had out their Christmas displays. (Why?!) Anyway, there was a giant stocking so Benjamin asked me what it was for. I told him that if someone hung it by their fireplace, Santa would come and fill it with treats.

In the car, he kept saying "Ho, Ho, Ho!" I reminded him that there was something much better at Christmas time that we celebrate and asked if he could remember what it was. He thought for a minute but couldn't remember.

"It's someone's birthday at Christmas. That's what we're really celebrating," I said.

"Is it John Stephen's birthday?" Benjamin replied.

"No," I answered.

"My birthday?" he guessed again.

"No, it's someone really special," I told him.

"Grandbunny?!" he said with great certainty.

I knew my boy was a genius. How sweet to think of Grandbunny. She would love that. I'll have to tell her that story. Better find the Advent calendar!!! Love you, Mom
