Doggy Heaven

As we drove to school this morning, Benjamin started chatting.

"Mommy, when I get home from school today, I'm STILL going to miss Noah," he said.

"I know you will, Sweetheart, I'm sorry," I answered.

"And John Stephen will miss Samantha, and Buck will miss Sydney, and you will miss Miss Cynthia, and Daddy will miss Mr. Nate. Buck will miss Limit too, but she's in Doggy Heaven. She was really sick and threw up all over the the floor and now she's in Doggy Heaven. Is Buck going to Doggy Heaven? He threw up on the kitchen floor the other day!" Benjamin added.

I assured him that Buck would be with us for a while!

Later tonight Benjamin started talking about Doggy Heaven again. He reminded us that Limit was in Doggy Heaven and asked how dogs die. I told him that sometimes they are very sick or they might be in an accident. Then he asked, "Why don't dogs die on a cross like Jesus?"

"Well, not many people die on a cross like Jesus," I explained. "Jesus was a very special person."

"Like Grandbunny! Jesus and Grandbunny are very special people!" he responded.
