Benjamin overheard me talking to a church friend and fellow preschool mom about going to the movie night at the church tonight. "I want to go to church with you!" he whined.
"No, you and John Stephen are staying home with Daddy and having Guys Night In," I told him.
"Well, we'll just go to our own movie," he said. "It's just a movie for boys! Just for boys and grown-up boys. Okay, only boys and girls can go. And do you know what it's about? It's about ballet! The daddies are doing ballet!"
I couldn't wait to tell Scott what Benjamin had planned for them! He talked about it all day and was quite adamant about it.
When Scott got home, I told Benjamin to tell Scott about his plan, so he did. Scott immediately said, "Oh, no, no, no, no, no" in a funny voice. "Let me tell you something, son. Daddy does not do ballet. I like to dance, but I do not do ballet! And we can watch a movie about trucks and firemen and police cars, but we are not watching ballet!"
The rest of the night whenever the movie night was mentioned, Benjamin would say, "Oh, no, no, no, no, no!" about the ballet part. I really love his innocence and sweetness and especially his imagination, but I guess we kind of squelched that!
