Backstory: Amy Bippert is a girl that has been a sweet friend to Benjamin since Kindergarten. It was discovered this week that Benjamin has a crush on her! However, he's afraid she doesn't like him back.
"Mommy, how do you spell 'candy' with just two letters?" Benjamin asked me.
I thought for a little while and came up blank, "I don't know, B."
"C and Y! Get it? C A N D Y!" Benjamin announced.
"You're so clever, B," I told him with a smile. "Have you told that one to Amy yet?"
"No," he said.
"You should. Girls like guys that are funny. I bet she'd like that one," I tried to encourage him.
"Well, I save my best jokes for the most important people... like you," said my very charming boy.
