The boys get a kick out of using the word "stupendous" because, of course, it's a word they are allowed to say but sounds like "stupid" that they are not allowed to say.
In a taunting voice, John Stephen says to William, "William, you are stupendous!"
William's replied so sweetly, "No, I'm not! I'm William!"
John Stephen continued, "William, you are stupendous!"
This time William tried the "no, you are" route by coming back with, "No, you're a penguin!"
