I want

We've been having a big "I want..." problem with Benjamin and John Stephen lately. However, JS may have come up with a solution. Here's how the conversation went:

"Mommy, let's buy this!" John Stephen said.

"Did you bring your money?" I asked him hoping to deter his greediness.

"No! I want you to buy it for us!" He answered.

"Remember, 'I want' gets you nothing," I reminded him for the four millionth time.

"Mommy, may I please let you buy it for us?" He counter-offered.
